My SPECIAL place!

During the Christmas break, I washed all of my linens and blankets in my hall closet. Zach saw a shelf or two that was empty. He claimed one of them and affectionately named it his SPECIAL place. He threw a pillow on the shelf and climbed up there with his blanket.

Just laying there thinking…about his special place!

It wasn’t too easy to get up to his special place…..and it certainly wasn’t too easy to fit into his special place. He sure thought he was something until Mom got all of the blankets washed and put back onto his special shelf.

I guess all good things must come to an end.

Zach enjoyed going down a HUGE snow slide!

After we saw ICE, he convinced his dad that we needed to make another Gingerbread house.

Before we left, we stopped to see the trains. I took another picture of him from the back looking over the rails at the trains. Some day I will make a post showing how he has grown.

Sara and Zach had been wanting Wuggle Pets. They slipped off to Sara’s room to start making them. I love little hands!

We had a great Christmas! We have so much to be thankful for. We spent several hours at home together getting ready for lunch and playing with new toys.

We went back to the Robinson’s to eat around 4 PM. We ate and played games. What a good day!

Thank you God for sending your Son that we may have eternal hope! I hope to someday see my mother and loved ones again!

On Christmas Eve, Zach and I stayed around the house and did a little preparing for Christmas Day. Later that evening, we went to Belks and of course “Chick a La!”. We got ready to go to a Christmas Eve Service at Church!

After Church, we went to MaMaw’s house for our traditional gumbo and meat pies. Later, we opened presents from MaMaw and Pops. Then we headed off to Nana and Papaw’s to open presents from them.

Zach came home and played with his new boat from Nana and put out cookies and Dr. Pepper for Santa. Santa likes Dr. Pepper. Mom and Dad got the car loaded with packages and clothes for the night. We headed off to stay at Aunt Misty’s so we could have Christmas with the family Christmas morning!

Tonight we went to Steve and Misty’s for the game and dinner. Zach told me that he was going to be nice to Sara. He wasn’t going to be bad to her ever again. He said that the Bible says to be kind to another. “It says that Jesus was born in Betherham. Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph. Is it really true, Mom?” Yes, indeed it is!

I found this Ho Ho Ho in the $2.50 section at Target. I put it in the middle of a wreath for added fun and color!

Day 11---I know I’m very LATE!

Zach had been begging for nights to make his Gingerbread house! So, last week we planned a night for this work of art to take place. We ordered in food from TaMolley’s and then set out to have FUN! Dad did a great job with the construction and the application of the icing. Zach and I put on the candy.

Zach realized that there was a lot of work to putting one together! After working a long time, he said, “This is a lot of work.” He told us he was going to make us cards and came back with these.

All 3 of us had a great time working together as a FAMILY. It made for a great Christmas Memory! :)

Joys of Christmas!

I haven’t posted lately since I lost my camera after vacation. I am sick. I lost all of my pictures from the school Thanksgiving feast and our family’s Thanksgiving vacation. Although I have bought a new camera, I still pray that I find my other one.

Summer Vacation 2011!

We enjoyed eating at Lamberts!

We rented a boat several days and spent the days on Table Rock Lake…relaxing and swimming!

Zach really enjoyed getting to see and feed the animals at a drive through animal safari last year. So….we headed back this year. I think more than Zach enjoyed it this year!

So much that kisses were given.

We went to Silver Dollar City several days since we have season passes. Dad and Mom even got in on the fun! I was surprised Mom braved the Powder Keg.

Zach really enjoyed spraying water!

This year he managed to keep his hands still enough to get a wax hand. I took a picture of it in case it didn’t make it home. It did!

Last summer and this summer we rented a house in this village for the week. We enjoyed our lil red house for the week.

We enjoyed our little vacation.The time came when we had to head home! It seemed to fly by this year. I told Joel that it was one of the fastest vacations I had ever been on…..He agreed.

Zach had a great time! We were planning to stay somewhere on our way home. Zach wanted to go to his house…we kind of did too…...so home we went. I’m glad that he likes home too!

A Candy Buffet for a 40th Birthday!

I recently had fun gathering candy to make a candy buffet for a SURPRISE 40th Birthday party! I couldn’t find many ideas out there for a 40th birthday candy buffet. So, I found a list of candies from the 70’s and put together my own.

You can’t have a birthday around the Robinson’s without a Roses are Red poem…..So, Joel had to write a profound one to be framed.

We had tons of candy….and probably tons of CAVITIES! Oh, well! We’ll deal with that later!

Jesus is Going to be Mad in your heart!

First thing this morning, Zach came to me as usual with his morning breath. I hugged him tight. Many times I’ll say aloud as I hold him close. “Dear Jesus, thank you for my boy!” This morning I changed it. “Dear Jesus, thank you for my stinky little boy.” He didn’t like it. “Mom, Jesus is going to be mad in your heart. He doesn’t like you saying that. He’s going to be doing this.” He hit himself on the chest randomly.

Well, I guess I shouldn’t have said that! I am thankful for my my little guy! I don’t want Jesus to be mad in my heart either.

We did take some professional photos while we were there. What fun!

CABO FISHING!

I don’t know what to say about these pictures, but I do know that the guys could tell you a story or two. I am sure glad to see that they all have a picture with their lucky catch.

We saw the Carnival Splendor pull into port at the Cabo Marina. The guys got a closer look from their fishing boat.

I don’t think they’ll be able to go on their fishing trips without us any longer. Cabo sure seems more enticing after this trip. :)

Dining Out in Cabo!

Well, we found out that in Cabo, finding a place to eat was an experience within itself. As you walk around the marina, you are attacked by restaurant salesmen armed with menus and beautiful platters of raw meats trying to convince you that you need to eat at their place. Once you choose to dine at their place, you are welcomed with applause and cheers. What a life!

We found out that presentation is very important.

I also found that Coca Cola Light in Mexico is not the same as Diet Coke.

Joel found that Quesadillas in Mexico are not the same as they are here.

Tortilla soup is pretty good…..even if it’s windy.

Mom and Dad enjoyed a love song in honor of their anniversary. Dad even joined in on the song and paid the tip when they were done.

Fajitas in Mexico aren’t as good as TaMolley’s here!

Mmmmmm! We enjoyed eating at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. It was my favorite place to eat while in Cabo.

They brought out wraps and heaters for us! June was chilly there in June!

Before we flew out, Joel and I had breakfast at the hotel. We enjoyed pancakes and omelets. Mmmmm.

Time sure goes by quickly when you are having fun! Our time in Cabo didn’t break that rule!

Cabo 2011

Joel and I enjoyed a vacation to Cabo recently with Tim and June and Joel’s parents. Joel and Tim earned the trip from work. Although I was reluctant to leave Zach here and leave the country, I thoroughly enjoyed my time away.

Joel and Tim checking in to the hotel. We thought they were having to listen to a time share talk…..we had a good laugh watching their heads bobble.

When we got there our rooms were not clean so we had to wait…….

Since we were without a room, June and I were waiting by the elevator! Well,….this guy in black shorts and black boots and his buddy (who always had a little too much to drink) offered to go let the hotel know that they were not happy about us waiting on our rooms. Joel and Tim heard their conversation….and came around the corner to save the day. (I took this picture later in the lobby to remember our black boot friend.)

Finally, we got our rooms. They were wonderful! The resort just opened in February so everything was perfect and so relaxing.

And the view and the sounds of the waves pounding the shore were to die for!!!

We had such a good time looking down from our balcony on this view. The pool was not ever very busy while we were there. What a relaxing time!

I’ll try to post more later about some of the good times we had while there.

Sour Chang-er Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups flour

2 eggs

4 M&M’s

1 piece of cake

Stir it up. Throw the egg up in the air, and give it to the cooking lady---Mom. Pour the flour in the bowl. Put M&M’s and cake in bowl. Put it in the oven. This makes a nice summer snack…(Zach’s silly laugh)

Spring Break!

I am enjoying my time with my little guy this week. However, it would be even better if I could spend it with my big guy. It is kind of discouraging that he couldn’t take at least a day or so off this week. Oh well, life goes on.

Zach and I are staying busy. We’ve done some shopping, housework, and some yard work. He’s been very happy to get to just stay home and play in the backyard. I’ve enjoyed watching him swing, ride his tractor, and dig in the dirt. We’ve eaten out on his little picnic table a few times. It was so rewarding to hear him say, “Mom, you’re my best friend.”

I’m going to do a little shopping tomorrow and hopefully take a day to do something Zach wants to do. Sometimes it is so hard to stop when there seems like more than I can do alone to keep things going around here……lawn work, windows, baseboards, closets, ……..

I guess when life throws lemons at you, you have to make lemonade. :) That’s what Zach wants to do……make a lemonade stand like Max and Ruby.

Howdy folks…..

You may not be able to tell it from my not so frequent posting lately, but I really do love blogging.

I’ve got a problem! I’ve lost my camera. I’m sure I probably left in one of the many cars I drive. That is the problem with driving a different car every month. Oh, well.

Spring is in the air, and I love it……except for the POLLEN. Zach is very allergic to the pollen. So, I’ve tried to keep him in some. However, I do need to do some spring yard work. I don’t know what I will do about that.

Well, I guess I better go folks. Don’t give up on me. I’ll post again soon.

My Lil’ Preschool Boy!

This picture makes me smile. He loves to learn! After we learned about China on a map and played with pandas, he wanted to do a page like the “big kids”. So I copied one especially for Zach. You can see how intent he is on doing this page.

He loves to play the fish game.

I love my little Valentine. I am so thankful that I get to teach him some days at school. He comes 2-3 days a week, and he has learned so much already.

I enjoyed my snow day with my little man. I wish sometimes that he would have a brother or sister with which to play. I wasn’t looking forward to getting out in the cold and playing. However, it was a rewarding time together. It was time well spent.

Often, Zach asks me to buy him an ice cream after school. I told him that he would have to use his money for one. So, the next morning I heard him gathering money out of our “junk drawer”. He even wanted to order it himself…..and a book too.

We recently had a little snow…..well ice. Zach wanted to play in it right before we went to the store. I let him go out for a few minutes and snapped a few pictures.

I haven’t started taking down Christmas decor inside yet. I’m thinking I’ll enjoy it until the weekend. I took the yard decor down this afternoon. Joel came home early and finished taking down the icicles and porch garlands. Although I didn’t want to take it down, I feel good that it’s done.

One of my greatest blessings is this little guy that was given to me a few years ago. He brings so much joy to my life every day! I am so thankful God chose me to be his mommy. I look forward to spending a great 2011 with him.

When asked what was his favorite thing about Christmas, he replied “I love to open presents. It is cool and really fun.” He also loved going to Branson, “Nissouri” and watching the Dutton’s. Spending the night at Nana’s was another fun part of Christmas to him.

Today, we bought this cute little stocking for Zach’s room. It sings, lights up, and flops its ears. It is so cute. I enjoy seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child.

Well, I have decided that I am going to participate in Melissa’s Days of Christmas this year. I didn’t participate last year, but I enjoyed participating a few years ago.
