Zach Stories
Zach has been busy keeping me in good spirits lately. I thought I'd share a few fun times with you.
Late this evening on the way home, Zach asked me if it was morning. I replied, "No, it's evening."
He did not like my answer and fussed like there was anything I could do about it. Then he said, " I'm going to ask Jesus to make it morning." The good thing is that eventually his prayer will be answered.
A few weeks ago, I was getting him dressed for the day. He told me that one of his cousins was mean to him. I said, "Oh really. Well, you'll have to be nice to them."
"I'm going to shoo" and then he caught himself and started singing a junior's song. "I'm going to look that problem right in the eye and say my God's bigger than you are."
The other day, we left the teacher's store, Zach grabbed a bag of jelly beans and carried them out the door. When I realized what he was doing, I had him take them back inside and put them on the shelf. When we got into the car, I explained to him that was stealing when we take something without paying for it. He said, "I got sin." and then began singing another junior's song "I turned away from my sin."
A few weeks ago, we had Alex spend the night with Zach. A few minutes before bedtime, Zach hugged Alex and told him that he was his best friend. When the lights were out and the boys were getting settled for bed, Zach bolted up and was headed to sleep with "my dad". He told me, "my dad's my best frand". "I thought Alex was your best frand." "No, he's mean to me." "Alex, you're not mean to Zach, are you?" "Yes, sometimes." (At least he was honest.) Zach headed off to sleep with his dad with Alex right behind him. Needless to say, I was booted out of my bed for the night. But that was alright! Two little boys were happy.
