What do I Post About?

Now that the days of Christmas are over, I don't really have much to post about! The presents are opened...MeMe is gone home....The family gatherings are beginning to slow down.....Life is beginning to be somewhat normal again.....Loneliness is beginning to set in....Zach and I don't feel the best in the world......and my oven is still broken.
Oh, well! I have so much to be thankful for this year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS!

Joel worked hard on our outside lights again this year. I bought lights, ribbon, and garland for the poles, but we had a hard time getting everything done. It seems that things get busier every year!
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Be sure to enjoy the rest of the season, and most of all remember the reason for the season.

And to all a Good Night!

Day 21 A PARTY FOR MOM!

Saturday was Mom's birthday. We all got together at my house for a party Sunday for lunch! (All 18 of us) We had gumbo, rice, potato salad, pear salad, cheese ball and crackers, french bread, and Joel's boudin balls with special dips. Joel got a grand idea that he wanted to make boudin balls late Saturday night. So off to Wal-Mart he went. Needless to say, he was up to 3 AM making them.

Here is the birthday lady with her date......What a nice looking couple!

PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES! We took tons of family pictures. Here is one of MeMe and her great grandchildren in Shreveport. We are so glad to have MeMe here for Christmas! (This is the best picture of them I had.....Afterall, there are 7 kids just a wiggling!)

Look at these pretty girls eating their lunch. Caught you Hannah!

AND FOR DESSERT...brownies and icecream, cherry pie, or toasted coconut pie!!! I didn't make them... Marci did!
Zach wants some ice--ceam too! What a great time we had just being with our family!
Then everyone left.....and we were just one tired family! The End. Merry Christmas!

For Boudin Ball Orders, Call Joel! They were WONDERFUL! His kitchen is open UNTIL........ 3 AM!

AND NOW FOR THE 18TH DAY AND THE 100TH POST

AND FOR THE 100TH POST....I'd like to hear from all of you guys who stop by our blog! Be sure to leave a comment on this post about a favorite type of ornament you collect or enjoy. Zach will choose one of your names. We will go shop for one that we think you will enjoy for many years to come!

But, be sure to leave your comment by Monday, December 22 at 12AM! Let's see who will have a new ornament for their tree next year!

OH, I can't believe that I finally caught up on my Days of Christmas posts. It was work, but it was fun! Enjoy!

Day 17

Zachy got this neat ornament for someone special. He said her name again as we got it out of the bag. He hung it on our tree until we get ready to give it for Christmas. I wonder who it is for!

Day 16

I found this cute snowman at Cracker Barrel this evening for $4.00. I am really tired of snowmen, but some reason they always catch my eye.

Day 15

Joel's grandmother makes these NEAT stockings for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We'll have them for many years to come to remind us of a wonderful lady. She is coming to Shreveport for Christmas. Oh, what fun it is when MeMe is here!

Day 14

Just a few more to catch up on! Here's a peek from the kitchen into the dining room!

Day 13

Hot, hot, hot! Hot Chocolate. There is nothing better that reminds us of the coziness of this season than a cup of hot chocolate. Joel loves it served with hot buttered toast. However, he requests that it be made from a home-made mix like his mom made used to make for her family. I do have to admit that it is delicious.

Day 12

A little closer peek....

Day 11

An old-fashioned tree....

Day 10

Well, it's beginning to look like Christmas! Here's a peek at Christmas in my nook!

Day 9

This is another favorite decoration. I bought it in Branson a few years ago. I liked it because it looked like it came from another era!

Day 8

The presents are being bought, but there is still more to do. It'll just have to wait until school is out!

Day 7

Zach thought it was already Christmas morning the other night when I let him hold this for a picture. However, he never did more than play with the bow. Good job, Zach!

Belated Day 6 Photo

This is a special ornament to me! It reminds me each year of the last Christmas that I had with my mother. Although she was very ill, she came to stay with me several times during the Christmas season that year! I cherish the memories that I had with her that Christmas. She will soon be gone 5 years! I miss you, Mom!

Belated Day 5 Photo

I've collected snowmen since Joel and I have been married. This is one of my favorite ornaments. I guess it's because of its bright red scarf. I have a few more favorites that I will share.

Belated Day 4 Photos

Amanda gave these roses as a "Thank You" from the kids for directing the program. Thank you, Amanda for the roses and for your help!!!!

Belated Day 3 Photos

Our school kids and junior kids put on a presentation entitled Miracle on Main Street. We also used some of our junior's helpers. I thank God for how awesome these kids and adults performed . Joel was the mayor who didn't want these kids to put on a Christmas pageant in town square.

Belated Day 2 Photo

I made Joel a cheese roll this week to compensate for the chili that he doesn't really care for. I was really hungry for some chili so I decided to make it for myself. He endures it as long as I make a cheese roll to go along with it. However, I made taco meat this time. He had tacos and cheese log instead.
